Jessica is one of 330 students who will participate in this year's conference and learn how to navigate and be prepared to live in a global society. As a conference participant Jessica will participate in a mock United Nations scenario where they will serve as delegates representing different countries. She will learn how to research a topic, take a position on the topic they researched, and how to negotiate with others from various countries to develop international policy or to advise the body on sensitive issues such as economic sanctions. Jessica will serve as a delegate and represent the country of Brazil on the topic of "fair trade and sustainable supply chain."

Upsilon Tau Omega Chapter's Global Impact and Educational Enrichment committees and the United Nations Association of Georgetown sponsored Jessica to attend the conference.

Under the international platform, Launching New Dimensions of Service SM, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., has a partnership with the United Nations Association of the United States of America Global Classroom Project to prepare students for global experiences. Through this partnership, students will learn about the United Nations and its mission.
